Along the lakeside, eight marinas harbor sailing boats and offer enjoyable lakeside walks. It is also possible to rent sailboats, kayaks, pedal boats or other small boats to discover Lake Annecy. Explore the landscape at your own pace in a sailboat, or take a scenic cruise on the lake. Visit some of the nearby lakeside villages by taxi-boat.
Dotted around the lakeside are a multitude of beaches, where you can lie back and soak in the sunshine. Public gardens and parks make the perfect meeting place and picnic site.
Cycling and walking vacations around Lake Annecy
Hôtel Novel*** holds the Logis bicycle label and hence has the entire infrastructure necessary to accommodate you and your equipment.
Hôtel Novel can be reached by a cycling lane. The lane leads you to the lakeside where you can enjoy a fantastic 40km (25 miles) cycling route that will bring you all around the lake. Haute-Savoie counts over 1500km (930 miles) of marked trails suitable for bicycles. Depending on your level and your needs, we can suggest a trail that will suit you, and enable you to appreciate the charm of the landscape of Haute-Savoie. We have a bike shelter that is kept locked, inside the building, for your bicycles.
If you are on foot, walking or hiking enthusiasts, you will find routes to your taste and desires. The easier ones follow the cycling trails that lie along the lakeside, and the more challenging ones will bring you to the surrounding mountaintops, you won’t miss any details of the variety of the landscape of Haute-Savoie.

Treat yourselves to a romantic weekend break!
Walk hand-in-hand along the lakeside to the Pont des Amoureux (the lovers’ bridge). Visit the Gorges du Fier, a wonderful natural site, sculpted by the gushing water, a site associated with an old legend that speaks of an improbable love story. Watch the beautiful sight of the sun setting on the mountaintops in the evening and enjoy a candle-lit plate of spaghetti (like the Lady and the Tramp in the Walt Disney movie), followed by a gentle walk along the cobble-stoned streets of the old city quarters of the Vieille Ville. At the foot of the castle enjoy the charm of the illuminated stone fronts.
